Does it matter if my MCT oil came from Coconut oil or Palm Kernel oil?
The MCT Oil is primarily a mix of C8 and C10 fatty acids in a certain proportion - typically 60/40 or 70/30. There is also a version that is 100% C8 only. This MCT Oil can be derived from Coconuts or Palm Kernel. Speaking purely technically, as long as our objective is to get a blend of C8 and C10 fatty acids in a certain proportion, it does not matter if the oil came from Coconut or Palm Kernel or both. HOWEVER, for people who are allergic to Coconuts, the Palm Kernel derived MCT could be an alternative.
